The earth is full of resources, but these resources are not equal & balanced in nature. Some area may be full in one may not in other.

India is one Country which is full of resources. In India there is one state called Gujarat Sub-state of Saurastra is located. The Saurashtra is lacking in natural resources but it is very holy land and full of saints and great people with bigger identities. Thus Saurashtra may be lacking in natural resources but fortunately the god has made it full of human Resources.

Really this land has given a birth to many great Saint and Sufies who had served the society whitout any expectations. Really the soil of Saurashtra is worth visiting.

Right from the greatman Mahatma Gandhi many others are the jewel of Saurasthtra. The whole Saurashtra area is known for holiest and noble saints & Mahatmas.

200 Years ago, the picture was quite different. Man was ignorant narrow-minded and superstitious. He knew nothing about the lands afar. He knew very little about the planet he inhabited. Darkness prevailed. The dawn of modern science was yet to break. No transportation, no communication system helped him to contect his fellow-man. His world was limited. He dared not cross the limits. He was confined to himself. He lacked the spirit of adventure. He suffered a lot, because he believed that destiny was the only force that governed his life. If destiny chooses him to be poor, he can't do anything about it ! The so-called religious leaders told him that he suffered because he had committed sins in his previous life. He thought he was guilty. He reproached himself. He was suppressed. Social injustice and constant exploitation almost killed him.

At that time, in a little village in Saurashtra, a saint was born. He was a prophet on disquise. He liberated the common people from the bondages of ignorance and superstitions. He inspired them to work hard. He assured them that can shape their destiny by strong will and complete devotion to God. His name was Rev. Shri Dan Maharaj. He was born at Kothi in Vikram Sanvat 1784, in Rajkot district. He established a Monastr (Ashram) at Chalala in Dhari district.

He was compassion personified. He devoted 47 years of his life, going from village to village, struggling constantly to root out ingnorance from the society. He was born with a divine power in him, so he totally changed the life of the common mass around him, He was considered, among the masses, to be the reincarnation of God. He was worshiped by thousands and thousands of followers all over Gujarat .

Shri Dan Maharaj Memorial Trust has been working of the last 200 years as a mission, for the welfare of rural people.
